I have been loving my fermented veges! I'm so thankful to have learned to do them myself so I can always have them on hand. Today, I thought I'd try fermenting some cabbage.  I'll let you know how they turn out.


Here, I layered shredded purple cabbage, onions, minced garlic, and minced ginger until close to the top. I added some 5 spice and crushed red pepper. Poured the 2 cups of water mixed with 1 1/2T sea salt into the jar. Covered the veges with my cabbage leaf and made sure everything was submerged in the water. Sealed it with the lid and now for the waiting period. Actually, I could have added some shredded carrot to this for some wonderful color, but that will have to be the next batch. Now the excitement comes of waiting all week to eat this wonderful food! Have you tried  fermenting your own veges yet? Remember, our last video showed how to do all of this.
