Just wanted to say thank you to the Anti-Cancer Club for featuring our blog in their nutritional bootcamp page this week. They are a great group for those who are dealing or have had cancer. We appreciate what they are doing. Patricia (founder of the group) has written a guest blog for us. Check it out below.
The Anti-Cancer Club™ grew out of my own personal experience with cancer.
In June 2009 I was diagnosed with nodal marginal zone lymphoma (MZL). MZL is an incurable non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
After an array of treatments, I found myself wondering "what next?" There was no one to turn to; no place to go. My cancer was beaten back, but not beaten. I was cast adrift until my next appointment with my oncologist.
How does one take charge in the midst of such chaos? What are the key elements of anti-cancer health? These questions are what drove me to form the Club.
There is a vast range of information, research and data that clearly points to the benefits of crafting a healthy, anti-cancer life. And it's something you can DO. You CAN take charge of your health.
My quest — which continues on a daily basis — led to creating this Club.
One's health is a private matter, but one's struggle with cancer can't be done in isolation. Quality information, incremental change towards healthier habits and an awareness of the many issues involved with cancer is needed.
There are numerous approaches that can complement your medical strategy and enhance your health and it's up to you to integrate them into your life. Integrating more raw food is one food strategy. Learning to manage your stress (rather than having it manage you!) is also critical.
I hope that this Club provides a supportive environment for learning about cancer, connecting with others and taking charge of your life to pursue HEALTH even in the face of cancer.
